Dirk Beth - Managing Partner  

Dirk Karsten Beth - Managing Director and Founder

Dirk Karsten Beth is a technology entrepreneur and investor.

Dirk Started his technology career with the Volkswagen group implementing end user data technologies for the VW, Audi, and Bentley automotive brands. Dirk later joined SeraNova (now Cognizant) as a Principal Consultant where he implemented globally deployed Internet Security applications for American Express and 3Com.

After SeraNova, Dirk joined Arbortext (now PTC) as Principal Consultant and Solution Architect where he designed and implemented applications for several fortune 1000 companies including SAP, Schlumberger, HP, and Lockheed Martin. Dirk's background in leading successful life science software projects for Arbortext helped create success for companies such as GSK, Guidant (now Boston Scientific) and Beckman Coulter.

Dirk architected and implemented some exciting new technology solutions while at Arbortext - building the first fully automated SVG based pharmaceutical labeling application which formatted approved labeling content with graphical symbols to create a print ready file without human intervention ensuring SPL content flowed through regulatory to product without errors.

In 2005 Dirk founded Mission3. Mission3 set out to create fully cloud-based regulatory and clinical solutions for life science companies. In doing so Mission3 had many firsts. Mission3 presented the industry with the first fully web and cloud-based industry specific eDMS and electronic submission management solution. Mission3 also introduced the first SharePoint-based regulatory information management solution.

Mission3 provided solutions for small biotech companies as well as fortune 500 pharmaceutical and biotech companies like Roche, Genentech, Abbvie, Abbott, and Bayer. While CEO, Mission3 grew through the acquisition of GRS4 based in Unterschleissheim, Germany. In 2013 Mission3 was named as the 823rd fastest growing company in the US by the INC 500/5000 list.

Dirk served as CEO of Mission3 until the merger with arivis of Munich, Germany in 2013, where he still serves as General Manager for the US.

In 2011 Dirk founded Hyalescent Ventures to support the growth of startup companies through venture acceleration. In 2013 Hy.Ve.Lab was founded to incubate primarily startup and growth companies focused on Medical Device, Diagnostics, and Health Technology through a lean startup process developed for the sector.

In 2008, Dirk was selected as one of Arizona’s leading innovators in the 35 Entrepreneurs Under 35 list from the Arizona Republic and BizAz magazine. Dirk regularly speaks at industry events on the topics of entrepreneurship, cloud computing, health , clinical, and regulatory technology and business process.

Dirk received his Bachelors from the University of Michigan. He is an aviation enthusiast with his private pilot license and spends his free time with his wife Sabrina and two children, Liliana and Karsten.

Chris Joslin - Managing Partner

Prior to Hyalescent, Chris was COO of Mission3, Inc. A Hyalescent portfolio company.

Chris was Vice President of Customer Operations at ATX-CoreComm, a national provider of telecommunication services. There, he provided day-to-day leadership to the entire customer facing operations team. Responsible for more than 500 employees spread across multiple departments, he played a key role in the integration of 32 acquire companies. He also oversaw two contact centers that handled more than 2 million calls per year and developed his team into a single world-class organization that consistently exceeded benchmarked industry standards by financial, technology, and customer service perspectives.
